Gator Family,

When I reflect on the past year, I’m encouraged by the relentlessness and fortitude of our Gator community. Together, Gates has successfully returned all of our sports opportunities while continuing to navigate the COVID global pandemic. It started with the successful return of full seasons at all levels in all sports that our association offers, including Softball and Baseball, followed by Football and Cheering, and now Girls and Boys Basketball. Additionally, our Gator families have come together to support one another and the community, having successfully hosting the Gates Athletic Association Golf Tournament, funding the 2021 Gates Gator Scholarship for graduating Gator Seniors, and walking in the Chester Parade.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the following members that have recently been elected and appointed to the Gates Board: Chris Malone as Football Director and Johnny Wilson as Boys Basketball Director

We are excited about the future of our association as well. Registrations have just recently opened (or will be shortly) for:

• Baseball
• Softball
• Spring Football
• Spring Cheering

We continue to partner with our associated sports leagues and Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation to provide a safe and healthy environment for sports to be played. With a potential end to this pandemic in site, we strongly encourage everyone to be diligent and:

• Be observant of COVID-19 updates
• Be patient with our Sports Directors as they are getting all the information regarding their sports from other entities, such as leagues and local government, and relaying that information to Gates Families as soon as possible
• Support local businesses, many of which support Gates Athletic Association and are no doubt struggling in this time

We are grateful for every Gator Family member out there for their continued dedication to the Gates Athletic Association and our mission to provide the best experience possible in all of our sports. Additionally, I would also like to thank all volunteers, past and present, for their dedication of time and resources to serve as Board Members, Coaches, Team Parents, and all other positions that make our association a success.
